Rainbow DNA polymerase is a recombinant form of a family B DNA polymerase from the hyperthermophilic marine archaeon Thermococcus sp. OGL-20P. OGL-20P is isolated from the Rainbow hydrothermal vent field in the Atlantic Ocean.
Rainbow DNA polymerase is a fast, robust and versatile enzyme that can be used in all PCR applications, including those requiring a high fidelity thanks to its proof-reading 3'-5' exonuclease activity. DNA products are blunt-ended.
PCR amplified DNA products of the complete open reading frame of hypothermophilic enzymes. The gene products of these enzymes are heat stable and can be expressed in any E.coli system. The DNA source comes from microorganisms that thrive in extreme heat cultured from hydrothermal vents in the ocean floor.
Our list includes but not limited to hyperthermophilic enzymes that are involved in carbohydrate breakdown, food additives, stereoisomerization, fat breakdown, protein digestion, binding to origin of replication, helicase loading, DsDNA undwinding, SsDNA coating, primer synthesis, clamp loading, sliding clamp, DNA synthesis, primer removal, lagging strand maturation, supercoiling regulation, chromosome segregation, nucleic acid modifying enzymes and RNA synthesis.
